User Research
who: 10 users who had previous experiences with ordering catering from local restaurants. I
how: 20-30 minute long interviews done through phone or zoom.
sample questions:
“Tell me about the last time you catered an event”
“How did you decide on a caterer?”
”How often do you buy breakfast on your way to work?”
”Why did you choose that specific restaurant?”
User Insights
After conducting interviews we synthesized out data using an affinity map and here are some of the insights we found:
I care about my caterer’s reviews/reputation
I want clear information about the food I’m ordering
I want to know about specialty food items
I like to communicate directly with the restaurant
I want to find out more about the restaurant online
I want a clear menu on the website
User Personas
Using the insights we gathered from research we created two personas:
Emily, an HR manager interested in getting an event catered and Ben, a freelance developer who commutes to work in NY.

Branding & Style guide
Lemoine Hot Bagels is a restaurant with a lot of history so we wanted a branding that would highlight its old school charm. We chose a color palette and typography that would give the website. a funky, retro vibe. We also made sure to incorporate the restaurant’s classic neon sign into the logo as well.
